At Cream Soda, we focus on two sectors: retail and marketing communications. That means we totally understand every need a business might have including, wholesale, buying, supply chain, design, technology, marketing, e-commerce, administration and everything else in retail and marcomms.
We really understand these industries inside out and can make the best candidate-job matches. With a firm focus on quality, we wouldn’t dream of pairing a job seeker with a company we didn’t feel was the perfect fit – something both parties thank us for.
Our first-hand knowledge comes from having supplied the retail sector ourselves for many years and running one of the North West’s leading integrated marketing communications agencies. That means we know a thing or two about what both candidates and companies are looking for – and we’re certainly not just another recruitment agency ‘having a go’.
We’re an intuitive bunch. Committed to the careers of our candidates and the future of our clients, we’re spot on at assessing personalities and, knowing our clients like the back of our hand, can tell where someone will fit in and thrive.
All in all, we make sure that, whether you’re a go-getting jobseeker looking for your dream job, a tip-top retailer searching for your next bright star, or a marcomms agency searching for a creative talent, we’ll find you the cream of the crop – whether a job or employee.
We offer one of the most competitive fee rates in the market, but we don’t compromise on service quality. Your role will be handled by a specialist consultant and where necessary we utilise additional screening processes such as psychometric testing to ensure the quality of our talent pool.
If you operate in a competitive marketplace where the talent pool is limited or maybe you have very specific skill requirements, we can help. Utilise our retainer model to showcase your organisation as an employer of choice and attract the very best candidates.
If you don’t feel the contingency or retainer models are quite right for you, or perhaps you feel the right candidate might not be in the open market, we can create a bespoke model to find candidates that meet your needs.
At Cream Soda, we don’t like to spread ourselves too thinly, so we stick to what we know best. Saying that, we do work with a wide range of clients in the retail, retail supply and e-commerce game, offering positions at all levels across categories including fashion, discount, health and beauty, homeware, toys, confectionery, grocery and a whole lot more. In the marketing communications sector we work with digital, creative, PR, integrated agencies and in-house clients – so we can really find the candidate or position who fits perfectly..
Jean-Philippe, an economics graduate from University College London, worked as a currency dealer in the City of London, before moving to Manchester in 1991 to join The Dalya Group – the kidswear supplier of choice to the grocery and multiple retail sectors. He was appointed managing director in 2003.
In 2007, after a management buyout of The Dalya Group, Jean-Philippe brought his commercial acumen to the role of managing director at Peppermint Soda, an integrated marketing communications consultancy. Under his guidance, the business quadrupled in size over the space of three years, helping it to continue to attract a host of prestigious clients to this day.
After many years of frustration with recruiters’ level of service within the fashion and retail sector, Jean-Philippe spotted a gap in the market. In September 2015, he joined forces with Philip Goldstone and, combining their expertise, they began to offer a refreshing take on retail and marketing recruitment with the launch of Cream Soda.
Philip has a thorough understanding of the retail industry, having founded his own clothing and fashion supply business, which supplied the major multiples as well as the mail order and grocery sectors for over 20 years. During his time in that position, Philip worked with several high street giants, including Next, Arcadia, Lipsy, Debenhams, Sainsbury’s and many more, enabling him to develop a comprehensive understanding of the sector and its recruitment needs.
When sourcing talent for his own business, Philip struggled to find candidates that had the requisite skills and expertise and were the right fit culturally. Taking this frustration and his vast experience and knowledge of the sector, Philip joined Jean-Philippe in launching Cream Soda to offer a unique, quality-focused take on retail recruitment.
Since setting up the business in 2015, Philip has built up an enviable portfolio of clients, as well as an ever-growing network of relevant and credible candidates, and is praised by both for his hands-on and personable approach.
